Does ginger promote weight loss?

If so, how should we use it and when?

Out of all the weight loss promoters, ginger's my favorite.

It's usually used in its natural form, without being put through intensive extraction, concentration, or any other processes that take it far away from its natural, benign form.

Usually ginger is used as tea, in fresh vegetables juices, and in stews.

For those who want to boost their weight loss, I recommend drinking unsweetened lemon ginger tea during the day as part of their water consumption.

Lemon ginger tea is made by adding 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger, 1 lemon wedge, and 1 cup of hot water to a mug. You can also use a tea infuser to strain the tea if you like it more clear.

So what ginger does to our bodies?

Ginger has been scientifically proven to:

1. Significantly decrease body weight (1, 4)

2. Suppress hunger (3)

3. Significantly decrease body fat (1)

4. Improve fasting glucose (1)

5. Prevent inflammation (2)

Drinking ginger tea before and between meals will help you to eat less and burn more fat. Drinking it before going to sleep will help to boost your metabolism and fat burning during the night, when normally our metabolism rate decreases.

Just as a reminder though, all these positive effects of ginger will only apply if ginger consumption comes as part of a balanced life style, and in doing so it actually supports maintaining such a life style.

Consuming it as part of an unbalanced diet just won't be effective.

I don't know what about you, but for me this post gave me the urge to go and make myself an indulgent lemon ginger tea, so that's what I'm gonna do right now!

See you at the next post.
